I had blogged earlier regarding the usage of RSS feeds. RSS feeds are making a big impact in the current Web industry. Till now we had numerous readers which could support various Feed formats and give variety of features. For example: Google Reader.
I was facing one problem though in my whole RSS Reader setup and that is concerned with Duplicate Feeds. My Reader used to be populated with the multiple links referring to the same page by different subscriptions. For Example: I had subscribed for two Oracle related feeds OraBlogs and OraNA(News Aggregator) . These feeds used collect the Links from various Oracle related blogs and sites and give it to me as a feed. Some of the Sites were common in both the feeds, hence resulting in duplicate links.
I was looking out for a solution for this, and the Web has provided it to me
Yahoo! Pipes. termed as a RSS remixer, Yahoo pipes was released last week. Using this tool you can gather feeds from various sites, do something with them and get a desired output. The concept here is pretty much similar to the Pipe command in Unix. The main highlight of Yahoo Pipes is the amazing interface, with cool drag'n drop features and a Debug window which will allow you to create pipes. I have created couple of pipes also
My Bookmarks and
OracleBlogs . Check them out and Have Fun :-)
